The statement that the brain works by the action of neurons simply "receiving, integrating and transmitting" impulses should be relaxed somewhat. Actually we have no idea how most of the higher level functions of the conscious brain are generated by neurons. I think you should weaken your statement by saying that, "It is generally supposed that ..."
