July 15-19

July 15 – I took Dr. Jones’ advice and adjusted my pipe model appropriately. I have a new spreadsheet that describes all pertinent information for the model.

July 16 – Today I spent time calculating the heat flow rates through the gpu and cpu, and the according heat flow rate through the heat exchanger. I also spent time working on the computer in P405; the computer has two hard drives which contain 18 GB and 280 GB storage. The OS is on the 18 GB system, along with locked files (Igor’s data), so I started moving files to the other computer.

July 17 – I spent a few hours today moving a large amount of Igor’s files to the secondary HD. There were a number of files that I could not copy (a list of which I gave Ann Marie); this made the process much longer, as I had to pick through each folder in order to copy the files that I could move. I also spent time trying to set the netbooters’ IP addresses to the same address using the command prompt and HyperTerminal. I then spent some time looking at the collimator and amplifiers.

July 18 – Today I updated the wiki with my journal updates. I also edited and refined some information for the pipe project; I modeled a worst case scenario.
