The early parts of today have consisted of catching up with email and lab work due to a vacation last week. I helped Jon make a wiki page and showed him where to keep a lab/research logbook. I also helped clean up and water test some of the piping system. My main goals at this point are:

1. Get the integrated circuit to work. I feel like the hardware/circuit setup end is correct, so that leaves the communication with hardware to look into. I want to make sure I am asking the DAQ to read the appropriate things. I would like to accomplish this as soon as possible, but I am having a hard time tackling this problem.

2. I would like to meet with Jim to get a schedule down for Jon Kulakofsky and Liana Hotte. ( I spoke with Jim, Jon needs a minimum of 6 hours a week to complete his research credits. Alex will also be taking advantage of Jon's time in the lab. Liana can work as few as one day a week to as many as all 5 days this semester. I am not exactly sure how her time will be used yet, but am positive that it will be needed.

  • I also have sent Jim a link to the air duct vent we would like to buy, and I need to compare prices for a light cover vs. a UV protective light cover.

Piping Update

The water has been run through the lines, and the pump and heater have been turned on to see if they work. All is good on that front. I am to find a thermometer and put it in the tank to keep an eye on water temp as I do the testing.

I also have to cut wood and brace the table with the piping on it. I will glue the wood to the back legs so that they are in place. This way, if anyone bumps the table and it moves, none of the plumbing will break.
