March 11, 2013 - Today I recut and taped the back corner of the final side of the dark box for the fiber spools by the splicing unit. After Jim's approval we can insert the spools and close it up all the way. In addition, I did some research and found some potential label makers and motors for the polishing station, which I sent to Ann Marie for approval.

March 12, 2013 - Ann Marie and I spent today prepping the fibers for their alcohol baths to test the varying concentrations of Ethanol and Isopropyl alcohol on the scintillating and lightguide fibers. We first needed to remeasure all of the fibers to 1/1000th of an inch with the micrometers. Then I prepared the solutions of different concentrations, and began photographing the fibers under the microscope. I finished both fibers for sets 1-4, and will continue with them on the 14th.

March 14, 2013 - I finished out the pictures of the fibers today and uploaded them to my computer. However, either because I've never done it before or there's a problem with the pictures, they didn't want to upload to a Google doc for me to share them with Ann Marie.
