As of September 24, 2014, the motors have been lowered so that they are 1mm above the lower limit. This did not provide enough room for the fibers to pass underneath the hodoscope counters. Tom has organized a group to help remove the counters and move the microscope into position. If the microscope is not able to reach the focal plane there is discussion to move the microscope downstream until it can be positioned correctly into the focal plane. This will result in a different energy range but at the present time there's nothing special about any energy range. Hodoscope counters would have to be adjusted to allow the microscope into this new area.

Sasha plans to work on the microscope crate on September 25, 2014. There continues to be a networking issue but Sasha seemed confident that it'll be up and running by the end of the day.

On September 25, 2014 the hodoscope counters were removed and the microscope was moved into position. The fibers are not situated along the focal plane. [Edit:Alex Barnes] The initial positioning of the microscope was wrong. The microscope has been moved to where it should be and everything fits.

On September 26, 2014 the hodoscope counters have been placed back. This involved removing the wheels from the base of the microscope and lowering the entire enclosure because the hodoscope counters did not fit over the bar holding the fibers down after the S-bend. We will worry about the proper adjustment of the fibers when survey and alignment come on Wednesday.

As of October 16th the microscope is fully cabled. There were two additional holes drilled and the 90 degree bends for the cables have been removed. A note of caution for any future cabling: if slack needs to be taken out of the cables, unplug the cables from the backplanes. Failure to do so will result in the lemo base connectors on the backplane being ripped out.
