Fiber Installation 9/3/2014

The tagger microscope was delivered to Jefferson Lab on September 3, 2014 with the fiber travelers document found here. The initial placement of fibers was determined by placing the bundle with the highest average photon yield in the most upstream position and working downstream with the next highest average photon yield bundle.

Spare bundles: (23,24), (25,26), and (39,40) with average photon yields 145, 137 and 74, respectively.

During the installation a couple fibers had to be interchanged with a neighboring fiber due to a fiber not fitting in the chimney. These changes occurred in positions that are only read out through a summing circuit.

  • From bundle 3, fiber 5 (3:5) is now located in chimney slot 4.
  • From bundle 3, fiber 4 (3:4) is now located in chimney slot 5.
  • From bundle 6, fiber 8 (6:8) is now located in chimney slot 9.
  • From bundle 6, fiber 9 (6:9) is now located in chimney slot 8.
