How to Obtain a Cluster Account

Updating the password
- It is strongly recommended that you change your password to a strong password that you can remember.
- Use uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols such as !, @, #, $, etc to strengthen your password. Tips: Replace an 'S' with $ or a 1 or l with !. An 'A' can be 4 and an 'a' can be @.
- Once you login through terminal using the username and password provided, type the command kpasswd.
- Notice the k at the beginning of the command.
- Follow the messages in the terminal window
- Note: There is a minimum password lifetime which may prevent you from changing your password.
- If you cannot change your password, the output from kpasswd will tell you when you can.
