Radphi Video Conference 7/12/02
July 12, 2002
University of Connecticut
Storrs, CT
Present: Craig S., Dan K., D. Armstrong, R. Jones, M. Kornicer, Dan S.
Scott T.
Scott/Dan K.:
- Issue: why do 45% of MC events that pass the BSDand fail -
probably a timing issue in the analysis of Monte Carlo.
I will resolve this issue and write an email reporting by
the end of the day.
- They are preparing for about ~15 days of simulation.
The suggestion is to simulate all generated events
(leave out GEO trigger pre-cut) and then possibly impose it later
for analysis studies. The concern is that we not impose special
bias in the Monte Carlo.
Dan S.:
-

- studied tagger/LGD correlations -found that the correlations
are weak enough that it is not worthwhile to do a DeltaE = Elgd - Etag
instead of a simple total Elgd cut.
- He went on to study the BVG - there are weird skews
in the BGV vs BSD straight after the overlaps have been masked off.
BGV hits look like there are splits in the hits list -
needs to be resorted and merged. Dan - Dave will start looking
at the calibration of the BGV.
M. Kornicer:
- asked for comments on his recent note on PSF studies.
- Now we are working on getting a good sample of isolated clusters.
Next meeting:
- W&M september 6-7 at Williamsburg.
