Radphi Conference Call 5/17/02
May 17, 2002
University of Connecticut
Storrs, CT
Present: Dan K., R. Jones, M. Kornicer.
Elton:
- 12 tubes from BGV were found at Jlab and have been
sent to I.U. to join the other 12 on loan I.U. for Hall D studies.
Dan K.:
- shows recoil comparison.
We would like to see this plot for MC.
His MC is gamma p -> F0 p, F0->pi0 pi0 s-wave and has infinite width
- flat in pi0pi0 mass. Now M2pi0 plot looks very nice -has K0s peak
and the f0 dip and some structure toward higher masses. On the
t-distribution we need to understand why the acceptance appears to peak
at t->0. The cosTheta*(GJ) distribution looks very flat. The Phi*(GJ)
also looks flat with some possibility of a m=+-1 interference.
In generated MC we expect both cosTheta(GJ) and Phi(GJ) to be generated
uniform. This is true for Phi(GJ), but in cosTheta(GJ) there is a depletion
near +1 and -1. This is probably due to a mistaken calculation of P_recoil
that neglects the nuclear target and recoil.
M. Kornicer:
- shows at
PSF page progress on understanding how to fit single showers in MC.
- he is going to write a tech. note
Next meeting:
- still planned for 6/28-6/29 at W&M.
