Radphi Conference Call 2/22/02
February 22, 2002
University of Connecticut
Storrs, CT
Present: Craig, Richard, Dan, Phil, Mihajlo, Elton.
Dan:
- has no new pictures, working on re-merging of clusters. He had a plan
to attach split-offs at clustering level, but gave up after looking at
clustering code. So now he wants to work at the cluster level to re-merge
things, then refit and calculate cluster parameter.
- Craig suggested keeping the original cluster configuration, and
add new reconstructions as new group in the event.
- R.J suggested keeping more than two possible cluster lists -
variable-length list. Each group gets stored with a "confidence level".
IU (Dan Krop):
- is working on BGV reconstruction, he is putting constants into database
- ask him for a short note on this BGV work. Hopes to show things at the next
conference call. Will use BGV as veto, to look at 4-cluster events in the
forward. The BGV clustering was always giving 0 clusters, will work on
getting that working after basic calibration is complete.
Mihajlo:
- was concerned about reliability of Monte Carlo to give shower shapes.
Scott found a good sample of real data and got an estimate of shower size
that is somewhat wider then MC, but not very different.
- R.J. will ask for a copy of Baltay's student's thesis, to get a
reference on PSF technique.
- Here is the pointer to
PSF page.
Elton:
- met with Dan and John Carstens in Hall B. Will try to save labeling on
cables during this procedure - wrap labels with clear tape. Spoke with
D. Tiles about removing BGV frame, and they agreed that removal on the
existing cat-walk should work OK -only ! ton of lead + some iron.
- Schedule - G0 test now occupies 17-18 of March, probably extending
into 19 th. Will need to remove beam pipe (1/2 day) and BSD extraction
will come next. Doug has ideas about getting BGV + frame out. We need
the lead wall out and probably the I-beam needs to be removed.
